Tomorrow is If Pets Had Thumbs Day, and we can’t help but imagine what life would look like!

Dogs could open the treat container.
Cats could unlock doors at 3 a.m.
Your Labrador might finally start texting you reminders for dinner.
And your cat? They’d probably order more toys online — with your credit card.

But in all seriousness, thumbs or not, our pets already run the house. They know how to open cabinets, swipe items off counters, and somehow hear a cheese wrapper from three rooms away.

If pets had thumbs, they might brush their own fur, refill their water bowls, or even schedule their own vet appointments. (We’re still waiting on that one! 😉)

While we’re joking, this day is also a fun reminder of how smart and adaptable our pets truly are. Their paws may not have opposable thumbs, but they make up for it with intelligence, curiosity, and plenty of personality.

Give your pet an extra belly rub tomorrow — before they figure out how to open the snack drawer themselves.
